Increasingly systematic quality and responsibility work - Sanna Korhose is the new Quality and Responsibility Development Manager

Hedengren's new, Group-level job description was born out of the need to systematise the Nordic company's responsibility and quality work. Sanna Korhonen, a process specialist and customer experience developer who knows the company and its people well, was chosen for the role.

Who are you - briefly tell us about your background?
I am Sanna Korhonen. I joined Hedengren in 2018 to lead the Nordic-wide order fulfilment department. In 2022, I moved to Security to help implement the Field Service Management System and create Service Desk processes. Through my background, I know the different functions and people in the company well and have strong experience in ensuring quality and developing processes and customer experience.

Why was the new job description created?
Responsibility and quality have always defined the activities of a company that is more than a century old. As the Group has grown and internationalised, the workload has increased. Now, we want to work more systematically on responsibility and quality, involving the whole organisation.

What does responsibility mean to Hedengren?
It is the basis and prerequisite for all business. Sustainable products and responsible business practices bring value to customers, save the environment and make work meaningful. Through our domestic product development, short delivery distances and the energy and material efficiency of our systems, our sustainability also supports the sustainability of others in our value chain, such as wholesalers, developers and property owners.

What is business quality?
It is often thought that quality is just about the quality of products, when it is built into everything we do. A quality system must be a seamless part of everyday life, so that it touches every single function and every single person in the company.

Sanna Korhonen
Hedengren's new Development Manager, Sanna Korhonen, aims to make the Group's quality and responsibility work more transparent and systematic. "We want to create structures for quality and responsibility work that cover the whole organisation and make it easier to monitor," says Korhonen.

What is your job description?
On the quality side, my role is to develop the company's quality management team. Hedengren is certified for both quality and environmental management systems and I am also responsible for their development. On the sustainability side, I focus on developing all aspects of ESG in cooperation with the rest of the organisation. We have already achieved good ESG results, but we want to improve our results even further. The aim is to create common sustainability objectives for the whole Group and build a roadmap to achieve them. Statutory CRSD reporting, which will start in 2025, will also be an important part of my work.

How does Nordicism shape your work?
Although Norway is not an EU country, it is governed by strict national sustainability criteria. Step by step, we are expanding our quality and responsibility work into a Group-wide effort.

What is the house's attitude to sustainability work?
Although my scope is broad, my work is made easier by the fact that the Group's management, owners and staff are so committed to sustainability. This motivation is fuelled by the increased interest of customers and partners in quality and responsibility issues.

Is responsibility also visible outside working hours?
In my spare time I volunteer in animal welfare at Pet Rescue Finland, an association that helps homeless dogs and cats in Lithuania. And of course I try to make responsible choices in my everyday life.
