Powerhouse Telemark has to generate more energy than it uses over the lifetime of the building. To achieve this, there is a need for energy-saving solutions. The choice therefore fell on Hedengren, which supplies emergency lighting with the lowest energy consumption on the market.
Plus building produces its own electricity
Powerhouse in Porsgrunn is what is known as a ‘plus building’, with surplus generation of its own energy. This is made possible by having its own electricity generation with solar panels on the roof, as well as energy-efficient solutions throughout the building.
Hedengren was involved in the project early on, in cooperation with the electrical consultants Heiberg & Tveter. We have supplied fire alarms and emergency lighting, and were chosen due to our good price and solution, as well as the fact that we supply the most energy-efficient emergency lighting on the market.
Thousands of kroner a year saved with Neptolux emergency lighting
Hedengren has supplied Neptolux emergency lighting to Powerhouse in Porsgrunn. At today’s electricity prices, Powerhouse saves NOK 13,000 a year (1100 €) on emergency lighting compared to its nearest competitor in the supply of emergency lighting.
In a review with the customer, we also pointed out that they could easily turn off the marker lights during periods when the building is empty. There is no need for the lights to be on 24 hours a day. This has led to a halving of the already low electricity consumption.
